Funny Fifteen
Okay, quick plug for the highly enjoyable folks at Writing Excuses.
"Fifteen minutes long, because you're in a hurry, and we're not that smart."
Accessible, relevant, interesting discussions on the writing craft.
This is a particularly good one on the topic of writing groups:
Writing groups can be difficult to put together and manage, but when everything clicks the rewards can be invaluable. This week we discuss all the ins and outs of how to find fellow writers, organize your group, interpret their advice, and overcome the common pitfalls that might get in the way.
How do you meet other writers? Local clubs, college courses, read clubs, and "fanzines" which can be a powerful forum of genre fans and conduit into the world of similar writers.
It's going to take effort and time, but a writing group can prove invaluable.
